Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing
LuxePaw is small, and we'd rather be honest about what we do well and where we're still learning than pretend to be a perfect eco-brand. Here's the truth about how we work.
How our supply chain works
LuxePaw operates on an agency model. We do not manufacture or hold stock. Every product on this site is sourced from a verified UK or EU supplier who dispatches your order on our behalf. We take responsibility for the whole experience — from listing to delivery to anything that needs fixing afterwards.
How we vet suppliers
Before we list a product, we look at:
- Product quality — materials, build, longevity. We don't list anything we wouldn't put in our own home.
- Sourcing transparency — we ask suppliers where their materials come from and prefer those who can answer clearly.
- Labour standards — UK and EU suppliers operate under stricter labour protections than many overseas alternatives, which is why we've scoped to that region.
- Dispatch reliability — we test-order from every supplier before listing, and re-test periodically.
Packaging
Because we don't handle dispatch directly, packaging is currently the supplier's choice. Where we have a say, we ask for recyclable cardboard, paper void-fill, and the minimum needed to protect the product. Plastic-free isn't universal across our supplier network yet — it's an active conversation, not a finished promise.
Returns
Returned items in resaleable condition go back into supplier stock. Items that aren't resaleable are handled responsibly by the supplier — we don't send returns to landfill where there's an alternative.
Animal welfare
We don't list products that have been tested on animals (other than the species the product is designed for). For meat-based supplements and treats, we prioritise UK suppliers with traceable, named-farm sourcing where possible.
What we're still working on
We're open about this. Areas where we want to do better:
- Carbon-neutral delivery across all suppliers (currently per-supplier, not universal)
- Plastic-free packaging across the full supplier network
- Public publishing of supplier names — this requires their permission and is in progress
